Hi,
As a final option of buying the house of my dreams my mortgage advisor has advised me to use my would be guarantor (who cant be my guarantor any more as he's not related to me) as a joint buyer. Previously I was a first time buyer buying a house worth 135k therefore didn't have to pay stamp duty, but I wanted to know what happens now that my partner in the mortgage isn't a first time buyer, do I have to pay partial/all stamp duty?
Thanks guys

I think both buyers have to be FTB, otherwise stamp duty is payable.

I am not sure how they know whether you ever owned a property in the UK but there is no way on earth for them to know if you own 5000 houses somewhere else in the world.0
