John lewis department store, springs to mind, however there is a stall on the market that sells bits and pieces and probably would be cheaper than John Lewis. Can't think of anywhere else in the Main Shopping Centre off the top of my head, but if I think of anywhere I'll post it later!

there's a hobbycraft in mk in rooksley near the station & the centre - you can check on their website to see if they stock what you're looking for

A bit further afield, in Woburn, there is a good shop for Cross stitch, although by now its too late for you as you would have been to MK by now.0
