Any ideas for extra cash?

Options
Hi everyone

I am new to the forum and wondered if anyone had any ideas of how i could get some extra cash, i have a few loans and some debt on my credit card that just doesnt seem to be disapearing very quick. My credit card is 0% interest and this is what i want to clear asap. I also have a huge dentist bill coming soon that will add to my credit card.

I have a full time job, work 9-5 mon-fri but outside these hours i am generally free and dont do much. I like dog walking so thought this would be an idea but dont know where to look or start. Also leaflet dropping?

I have sold things on ebay in the past but had a bad experiance that has put me off completly. I have sold all my gold, got £90 for it which was good. I have sold my old mobile phones by sending them off to them sites, (with good advise from this site, thanku :)) but now im out of ideas!!

Can anyone help? Thank you in advance xx

  • You could run up some leafletsfor the dog walking or other help in the home(?) if you have a printer at home or put an ad on a postcard in your local shop - amazing how many people still have a check there (and is very cheap).

Let us know how you get on I'm looking to up my income a bit too :D

Someone posted a few weeks ago about leaflet delivering, and the pay didn't sound very good for the amount of work involved - unless you love walking I don't think that would be a great way to make extra money.

If you do any shopping online, definately sign up to a cashback website if you haven't already, me & OH have "earned" loads by doing our home insurance etc online through quidco as well as getting a cheaper price!

    Thanks for the replies.
Yes i'd like to do cleaning in the evenings or something like that, maybe not every night, gonna keep an eye out for any vacancies. Or i did think of just dropping in to a few places and asking?

Making some leaflets or putting an advert on a postcard sounds a good idea!:T

What are these click sites about? I seen a few people mention it but haven't heard of it before.

This thread has everything you need to know about daily clicks. I suggest you read the first post and decide if it's for you or not. It's not mega money, but more like a bit of extra pocket money. I've personally had £300+ this year so far.

  • Definitely drop in and ask especially smaller businesses or offices as they are less likely to have contractors and perhaps would not need cleaning every night.

I don't know anything about click sites myself, I'm sure someone else can help with that. I do mystery shopping which isn't that profitable but helps out in other ways such as me and OH often get free meals out of it - which stretches the grocery budget! :D

I also do the election count - you could try and register with your local district/borough council for that (for next time). I just did the general election and obviously the locals are more often. You may need to take a days annual leave. Also, not looked into it myself but I sometimes see that around exam time schools need exam invigilators. Again may need to take leave but if you don't mind that - it's worth a shot.

    I'll keep thinking for you...

Some good ideas to keep in mind, thank you. I think the click thing looks a bit confusing for me but may have another look at it another time.

If i can pluck up the corage i may go into a little hotel that is near my house and ask them if they need a cleaner or that kinda thing......

Maybe you should try the DFW board too, too make sure you are servicing your debts (posh speak for paying them off) in the most efficient way.

The reason being is if you have a few debts then it makes sense, (subject to T&Cs) to pay off the debt which is COSTING you most first. So that would NOT be the 0% CC, as, in effect that is a free debt.

What they will ask you for is details of all balances outstanding and the interest rates applied to each balance.

Pleased to hear about the overtime BTW. My preferred extra job was always bar work - like being paid for being out, in a way!
