how badly will my br affect hubbie's credit?

hi all,
I'm going br on thursday - hubbie isn't but does have a dmp with cccs (no ccj's just defaults). We have a joint mortgage and also joint account with IF - with zero balance. All the utilities are now in his name.
How badly is my going br going to affect his credit rating - it's obviously not great anyway at the moment but not like mine lol!
Is there anything that can be done to improve his over time??
thanks, starbies

While you are both financially linked, your bankruptcy can only have a negative impact. How negative of course depends on each lender; it doesn't sound too much like his credit is in the best of shape anyway, so quite what real affect it will have is anyone's guess. It won't make it *better*, put it that way.

have you seen a solicitor about you going B/R ? , I went B/R in feb 06 i am not on hubbys morgage no bills ect in my name , no joint accounts at all ( we wernt married at time ) and the o/r have been chasing for half the equity on the house £30k ,
If i was you look into it a bit more as with you being on the morgage you could end up loosing the house , a woman at work lost hers as well , only she went B/R not huby lost house car the lot X

we've faced up to the issue of the house - we're actually in negatve equirty by a couple of £k so oh may be able to buy my interest but if we are forced to sell it won't be the end of the world for a few (too lengthy) reasons.
I suppose I'm more concerned that I'm 'dragging him down with me' - the business we had was my brainwave and even though he's been really suportive I feel I've screwed things up for him as well.

hi, exactly, thats just how i felt, we havent herd nothing for a few months, I had never been through so much stress in all my life i was so scared, ( I think they have got 4 or 6 weeeks left before they can do anything ) I was told by a solicitor before i went B/R that that no one could thake the house as i had never been on any morgage , but the o/r seamed to think differnt, anyway at least you know what to expect now,
    good luck for thursday,
gets me so mad when people like kerry MCfadden whatever her name is can go B/R and keep everything, house, car ect then go off and have a load of cosmetic surgery done ,
    good luck x
