i dropped lucky on this one - whilst shopping around both on the phone and the net for a dewalt 18v combi drill i came across this sale offer:dewalt dc988ka 18v drill at £235.00. i managed to save 50.00 compared to other local shops. purchased from hire and sales co in sheffield.

I've seen them go for £135 on ebay this month - http://search-completed.ebay.co.uk/dc988ka Just keep them skinned for a flaging auction and regular sellers.

And don't forget to use bidnip to secure a bargain!

yes, i too have seen them for the prices you mention - but what i found was the ebay ones are not complete - you only get the bare drill unit (no batteries or case/charger). at most of the other outlets the prices are ex vat. i paid 234.99 INC vat. even the screwfix direct shop wanted 279.99 for the identical unit.
