Cheek Of My Bank (A&L) - Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I am so mad with my bank!
DH's salary was due to paid in today, when we checked with our online banking nothing was showing. So DH has checked with his wages dept and the funds have definetely gone to the bank, he then rang the bank and was told that there was a processing problem and over 3000 people are missing wages today but that they can see the payment sitting on our account just not showing on balance.
I had previously arranged with bank to collect £500 from Post Office today after leaving handbag on the bus on Tuesday with cheque book and debit card in it!
Card & cheque book had to be cancelled and because mine & DH's account is a joint account our debit cards have the same number so his had to be cancelled to!
Anyway I rang the bank and asked if I could still collect this money as they have DH's wages there (there admission) and they said no because it would take us over our overdraft limit and we would incur charges!
I was a bit taken aback by this just pointed out that as they had admitted that had our money and that the money was sitting in our account just not showing on the balance due to there processing issues that it was very unfair that they should levy any charges against us. The lady went away & spoke to her Supervisor who agreed with me and said that I could still collect the money with no charges. They are so cheeky! Good job I am feeling assertive today! :T

Oh blimey, don't tell me this, I was all excited that I'm changing to their super duper account!!!
Is this the first time you've had problems (fingers crossed you'll say it is!!)I believe that I have the strength to make my dreams come true:T September Challenge £5 per day - £0/£150 :T0 -
To be fair to them this is the first time anything like this has happened and it appears to be "Just one of those things"
I was more narked that they admitted they had my money but would then charge me over the limit/overdraft fee's if I tried to withdraw it! Also the thing about joint account holders having to have the same card number seems a bit daft to me (My case is classic example) but hey, I should learn not leave my handbag on public transport! :rotfl: :rotfl:**Trying my best to be the best that I can**
