Debt passed on to NDR

Hi all, having a horrible day! Got a letter from littlewoods to say my full and final settlement was too low ( i offered them £115 on £165) & today i got a letter from NDR saying can i call them. I phoned them & they said littlewoods had now sold the debt to them & that i was with payplan the account is on hold & they want payplan to send them a finacial statement. They asked how much i was paying & i said £1.67 & they said theres no way they would accept such a low offer. This is the first of my debts to go to a debt collector & im worried now they will take legal action against me. If they wont accept the offer what am i meant to do? they said until i pay the arrears i will receive a £12 charge every 28 days

Thanks xx

They cant charge you £12 a month, a debt collector can only collect the debt they cant add to it unless there was a term that allowed it in you tlittlewoods agreement, which there won't be.

A DCA will accept lower offers, try 30-50%, so less than offered to littlewoods, the might accept. as they buy in so low.

That is so annoying and typical of creditors, you offer them £115 and they say it is to low an offer, then they go and sell it on for a fraction of what you have offered just so that they can get one over you, rather than help you when you are in financial difficulties and using a company that they reccomend.

As Dark Convict says make a Full & Final offer to The DCA, they will probably bite your hand off.

Thanks both! On the phone to them I asked if they would accept a full and final on the account. ( obviously I know I need it in writing) but after she put me on hold to ask her manager she said they do not accept any full and finals? From my googling it appears that ndr are internal debt collectors for littlewoods is this different to say A third party? Can these people charge me each month? X

If its still owned by littlewoods and their internal collections are just acting on behalf a £12 late fee can be applied.

But I would send a written F&F offer anyway - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php#6 (sample letter)

NDR are Littlewoods - which is why they can add the monthly admin charge until they agree a settlement figure.

Littlewoods usually do not accept token payments and will soon sell the debt.

I'd wait until the debt is sold to an external DCA and make an offer then. They usually buy debts for pennies in the £.

Keep paying as you are for the moment.
