milk of magnesia face mask cheapest?

hi
I am wanting to try the milk of magnesia idea as a face mask, but the cheapest I can find is £3 odd a bottle - I asked for a generic at the pharmacy and got odd looks and I wouldn't put that on my face stick to the brands ( you would think that a pharmacist would know the brands are all base products in fancy bottles with nice smells).
Where is the cheapest place and has anyone had success asking a pharmacist for generic MoM?
TIA Patch

Hi patchwork cat
I'm intrigued...what does milk of magnesia do to your skin to make you want to put it all over your face?
Sorry, can't think of a lookylikey...but would have thought the supermarkets would have their own versions, or Boots. Perhaps it'd be worth looking in Aldi or Lidl.0 -
I have Boots OB Cream of Magnesia which is about £1 cheaper. Although very slightly differnet according to the ingredients, the pharmacist thought it should do the same job
Unlike some of you, the pharmacist I spoke to was intrigued and wanted to know if it worked so she could try itAlso, my neighbour who is a beauty therapist tells me that when they are learning to apply face masks, they use a paste that is basically MOM, cos that works but is cheap.

Snowy owl - it is supposed to tighten the skin, remove blackheads and reduce pore size. There is a thread about it a couple of pages back.0
