IFA is it a worthwhile career move

I don't know if there are any people with the experience to comment out there.

I work in pensions for a large company who run their own final salary scheme, which is soon to change to CARE

My job has a limited lifespan of perhaps 1 more year, so I'm thinking of changing career.

I'm interested in the financial advice sector and would consider taking the CII exams as I would have several exemptions due to being a near qualified APMI.

My question is this. What's a good way into the industry? Is it worth it, or are the changes being introduced by the FSA making the career too difficult/administrative.

I've got 2 kids and a wife, so want to make sure my next career move is the right one (I'm not getting any younger)

Many thanks

Dave

Any advice would be welcome.
