    How much do cans weigh nowadays. I looked about 6 months ago and it said a 330ml can of coke was 23g.

    People who make a living of sorts by stealing copper cable from railways etc. burn off the insulation. Scrappies mustn't mind if it's a bit sooty because it all gets melted down anyway.

    Lead is another one, my Step Dad is a roofer and has always kept any small pieces of lead as well as collecting stuff on any jobs he does. He goes once a year, I think the price of lead must be quite good as he got £150 last time.

    I was in our local museum the other week and they had a display of sculpture made out of old tin cans, perhaps you could learn to be an artist, i think you'll do a lot better than scrap value.

    My partner works on a site he always brings a bit home of scrap.. Last week i went to the yard, i got back over £100 , made me happy paid some bills
