Extras in Boots delivery

I've just had a delivery from Boots. I had all the items I ordered plus a tube of Aquafresh toothpaste which wasn't ordered.

What do you think I should do, keep it and say nothing (is this stealing?) or call them?

It's the first order I've placed with them so could it be a weird "welcome" gift? It isn't listed anywhere on the packing slips inside.

Boots often put freebies in with my order, I've had conditioner, various sachets and samples of skincare products, purfume samples etc........

Thanks, but this was a full size tube of Aquafresh. I also had a conditioner sachet.

On that basis I will just keep it and not say anything unless they ask.

It's up to you if you feel you're being dishonest but I think it would take more resources (time, carriage costs, etc) than it's worth to return it. As it was not your fault you received it, I don't think Boots would be too bothered about 1 tube of toothpaste.

doubt it would be worth telling them as they won't want it back. Would cost more to them to pay for postage than it would be worth.

Is it nearing it' use by date?

Have a good look at the tube ... sometimes it will have 'not for resale' written on it or something similar meaning it's a promotional tube.

Was it a phone order? Can hallitosis pass down a phone line ... perhaps it was an unsubtle hint

Last time I got something extra in my order I rang and let them know. They asked me to return the item (I didn't mind as it was some maternity related thing that was no good to me) and credited my account with 500 points for the inconvenience. Sometimes it pays to be honest.
