Hello All,
As a means of earning more money and rather than being a borrower I wonder if anyone could suggest ways of making extra cash !
Thought of tutoring .. last year at Open University
Bachelor of Science (Open) degree, emphasis on climate change, genetics, Near Earth Objects, and Environmental Science (distinction). I have studied maths and IT as part of my degree.
I also have Certificate of Higher Education - Natural Sciences - OU
I am also a Search Specialist (Home Office trained) - expert in search, working with explosive and drug dogs.
Any good ideas ... ??? :j

Hi
I registered myself with uktutors.com for various secondary school subjects last September, I think, and in January I had a couple of offers to tutor Standard Grade kids in the run up to their exams in May. I charged between £15-£25 depending on the subject level. I have one student that's asked me to return to tutoring him in August at the start of the new year for his Higher grade and it's definitely a good earner!0 -
I also did tutoring from primary school through to secondary school. It took a while to get it going, but then I managed to make a fair bit on it. I also registered with uktutors.com, and firsttutors.co.uk. Definitely a good earner though. Shame I moved really, as now I have to start again!0

If you offer maths, you'll be fine.
I tutor locally - adults (English to Polish speakers) and some maths to primary school kids (confidence booster maths). I did advertise for 6 months on hometutorsdirectory for £20 which brought loads of work, and I put notes in the windows of local newsagents which got me the first adult learner. From then it's been word of mouth and I turn stuff down now, mainly because I work part time too.
It can be feast or famine though and remember school and college terms.0 -
