But surely the guaranteed loan will show on the op's credit report? and if it does and the OR sees it and then sees it has been paid, then the op could get in a lot of trouble.
I wouldn't advocate getting someone else to pay it, as if the or finds out about that then they can demand the money back, and it would get very messy indeed.
It really should have been included in the BR at the time, honesty is always the best policy.0 -

The loan was included in the OP's bankcruptcy petition (not clear from OP) but He and his friend are jointly and severaly liable for the whole debt so the friend must now pay the whole loan.
If OP's DAD were to give OP's friend £4k what would be the harm?
The OR has no power over anyones Dad or friends loan repayments or bank accounts last time I looked

You are correct jonno, but the OR has the power to come back years later and demand financial information IF they believe it is connected to the BR period.
For argumants sake, lets say the OP let his dad pay it, then after discharge paid said dad back, then some months later Another of the OP's creditor's got wind of this (and trust me, they have there ways of finding out) and complained to the OR, who then decided to investigate.
Ok its a long shot, but if there is any paper trail, it is not worth the risk of being held in contempt of a court order.
Unless you like porridge:cool::p
Which is the point you seem to be missing, a BR is under a court order, yes if the dad wants to pay it, thats fine, but if he wants it back, that could be an issue;)0 -
Sorry Mr Bat I think it is YOU that is missing the point
At no time have I advocated that the OP should pay his DAD back

No, but the OP did, if you read between the lines, which i know you did, stop being pedantic, you know as well as i do what the OP was getting at.Sorry Mr Bat I think it is YOU that is missing the point

Jono
The question is why you are encouraging the OP to break a court order?0 -
