really need sum advice, after a messy divorce ive been left with about £9000 debt in (credit cards etc).I work full time, pay my own rent but am really stuggling with all the repayments.I contacted the credit card companies a number of times and they keep telling me different things(they are lowering interest rate so lower payments or they are putting me on a payment plan etc)but when i make the new payment they have told me i should make i then get letters and numerous phone calls to say im in arrears and need to pay more and that the person i was speaking to has given wrong info in the meantime my accounts are getting into further arrears.I was considering getting a consolidation loan but am scared thats the wrong thing to do as i can only get high interest loans.any advice would be greatly appreciated i dont know were to turn:(

Hello monkeymagic and welcome. In order to advise we need to see your baseline situation in black and white. If you look at the stickies at the top of the threads list you will see one for first time posters mentioning SOA calculator. Post details of your income, bills, and credit card debts on there and we will try to suggest ways of cutting costs and tackling the debt problem. Consolidation loans can work out but only if all the credit cards paid off are immediately cancelled and not used again (a mistake so many of us have made). Far better to stop further borrowing immediately and tackle the existing situation. There is a solution to every debt problem, it's just a question of finding the right one.One life - your life - live it!0
