employer hasnt paid us ontime, can we reclaim bank charges ?

ok so today was supposed to be pay day, but our money hasnt cleared!! the company we work for has around 150 stores with a minimum of six staff in each. we werent given any notice that we weren't going to be paid. this is the third time we havent been paid ontime but only the first time we havent been given any notice. the last two times it happened they refused to cover bank charges etc due to them giving us notice. this time they are still refusing. ACAS said they should be paying for any financial losses we incur but they are insistant that they are not legally obiged to do so.
Can anyone advise on where we stand?
thanks

Probably not about date changing but often they will say something like "salary will be paid on or before 22nd of the month" for example. If it has been paid after this date then they are effectively in breach of contract.0 -
We have recently had this at work, whereby our Payroll system went belly up. We only paid a day late but staff were told that if they get any charges that we will cover their costs. An Employer is legally bound to do so.0
