Fancied a Chinese tonight as I've been gardening all after noon & cant be bothered to cook.Of the three Chinese's in Donaghadee, one is wayyyyyy too expensive as it's mainly a sit in resturant, the other one I would'nt touch since it changed hands & the third always burns the noodles!
In the next village,Millisle, the's a chinese & I remembered a menu hitting my door mat a while back so I dug it out....
Far more impressive menu than my local lot AND they do half & half portions (half main & half rice) for £3.50!
So I ordered half Beef Curry & Fried Rice plus a portion of spring rolls, total came to £5.30 the lot!! Brucey Bargain!:T
A main alone from my local is over £7.00 &,I dunno about you,but I end up freezing or binneng half of it as you always get wayyy to much imho. This place was just right.I'm contenetly stuffed!
Fast service too, they told me ten minutes so by the time I drove over there it was ready, the food was really nice & just the right amount.
I'll deffo be using it again! It beats the three in the Dee hands down for value, price & quality!

it was lovely when it was the red but i have to say since it sbeen taken over its totally hit and miss - sometimes it gorgeous otehr times its rank - for the smae dish it can taste totally different on different nights - also their portions vary dramatically.

Yup,The Kambridge,it's just up from the CoOp.It's owned by the Kam Inn crowd,It's mainly a sit in resturant but they also do teke out which is on par with Kam Inn,They also open for lunch betwen 12-2pm.

    Some of their prices are;
    Special Curry-£6
    Special Chow Mein-£6
    Dinner for 2-£21
    Spring Rolls-£3
So they're a bit more expensive than others but good quality.I think it's a bring your own wine with free corkage, not sure tho.
My neighbour has been there a few times with his daughter & speaks highly of it.

BTW,someone told me the's an Indian t/out in Millisle,is that right?
The one in the Dee's not bad but I prefer the one on the Belfast rd in Bangor.

I had the worst chinese I have ever had anywhere in the Kambridge and never went back! They were charging corkage then.

    Cheers Al,

TBH,I've not had anything from there apart from a curry when staggering out from Gracies,IIRC,the portion was fairly small.

not really proper indian in millisle.more of a pizza and kebab place. it does kebabs and they are lovely but expensive but relaly fresh - personally i rpfer a big giant kebab from indian in dee. i find it dearer but u paying for quality rather than quantity.

  • Have started using the Emporium from time to time. Half & halfs with onions and mushrooms on top plus curry sauce are awesome. Good quality and lots of it anytime I've been. Usually use the Kam Inn though - chicken ball supper on fried rice (4 x balls) plus curry sauce - plenty for the average bear ....

If you love Kebabs, try the one on the Donaghadee Rd in Newtownards, you know the shop's & garage next to where the old stocking & tights factory used to be.It's in there,The Aisha Tandori.Highly reccomend them!
Last time I got a mixed Kebab from the one in the Dee,the 'lamb' was actually cubed donna meat as well as the shaved donna meat! So it was really shaved donna, cubed donna & tandori chicken instead of lamb tikka, donna meat & tandori chicken!
