My letter to Credit Solutions..your opinions please?

Hi all

We received a laughably scary letter from "power2contact" today, saying that because we haven't been answering their incessant phone calls, they're going to come round to collect our debt. (£670 owed on a barclays overdraft) We're paying this through CCCS and I've already sent the "don't phone me" letter, with details of our CCCS ref no etc. This letter doesn't worry me, as I know, thanks to the heplful posters on here that:
a) it's just a computer generated missive, designed to scare us and...
B) they have no legal right to come to my house anyway.

However, my poor hubby was a bit freaked out and was making plans to haul our prehistoric tv and ancient computer up into the loft so that they can't take it! (bless him!)

I'd be very grateful if anyone could read my letter in reply and let me know if it's ok to send it and that I haven't left anything important out.
So with thanks to Tixy (who dug the legalese out from an old thread for another DFW), here goes....

Dear Sirs

I write regarding your letter to me dated 10th May 2010, stating that your client has instructed you to call at my home to collect the above debt. I would like to draw your attention to my letter sent to your client on 5th May 2010, stating that I am currently repaying this debt through a debt management plan with CCCS, details of which were provided in my letter.
Please be advised that I will only communicate with you or your client in writing. My wife and I both work shifts which include night work, the times of which are subject to change at short notice, therefore, repeated telephone calls are at best a nusiance and at worst, may be construed as harrasment. As stated in my previous letter, we will NOT discuss financial matters over the telephone.
I have noted your clients repeated attempts to contact me over the past few weeks and these have been duly logged by time and date. Should it be your intention to arrange a doorstep visit, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make such an appointment with you.

There is an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v Sheppard & Short Ltd [1959] 2 QB 384. per Lord Evershed M.R.). Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and, if you do so, you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.

Yours faithfully

You seem to have the important bits included. NID made the full list of templates already and it seems you have seen them - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1837507
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

No, I hadn't seen the full list of templates, I just trawled through the threads until I found someone else who was getting hassle. Thanks for that DC, very useful and thanks to NID too.
