Did the Rothschilds cause the credit crunch?

Ive been reading about the Rothschilds family today. Didnt even know about them till i searched for illuminati and came across a thread about conspiracy theories on here last night.
Do you think they had a hand in this (credit crunch/collpase of economies) considering who there are and what / whom they own?
1929: The Rothschilds crash the United States economy by contracting the money supply.
Could they have done it again? And why?
p.s. cant seem to find the discussion thread which is where i was going to post this.
