Christening gift ideas for 5 month old boy

Hi,

I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere so would be happy to be merged into it!

I am looking for some ideas for a Christening gift for a 5 month old boy (I'm not a God-Parent or anything, just a close family friend). I know from experience that the parents wouldn't appreciate any of the stuff you can get in H Samuels e.g silver commemorative frames etc.

I have around 15-20 pounds to spend.

Any ideas would be very gratefully received!

Many thanks
MWA

If you have the time / skill, how about making a quilt? Or even easier - a blanket - just get some fleece cut to size you require (no need to hem) and perhaps embroider the childs name and christening date or date of birth on. x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

I've given teramundi pots as Christening gifts and they've been well received

  • how about a lovely treasury children's poetry/nursery rhymes book? This is something they can keep for a long time and the baby can even read them himself when old enough. I think it is lovely to introduce children to the joy of books/rhyme/poems etc

Ive just been to a christening at the weekend, my friend is on Facebook, so I got a photo of her boys from there, registered with Kodak.co.uk and had there photo etched into a glass heart.

Seemed to go down well, and its a nice keepsake!
