Hi,
I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere so would be happy to be merged into it!
I am looking for some ideas for a Christening gift for a 5 month old boy (I'm not a God-Parent or anything, just a close family friend). I know from experience that the parents wouldn't appreciate any of the stuff you can get in H Samuels e.g silver commemorative frames etc.
I have around 15-20 pounds to spend.
Any ideas would be very gratefully received!
Many thanks
MWA

If you have the time / skill, how about making a quilt? Or even easier - a blanket - just get some fleece cut to size you require (no need to hem) and perhaps embroider the childs name and christening date or date of birth on. xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

I've given teramundi pots as Christening gifts and they've been well received

how about a lovely treasury children's poetry/nursery rhymes book? This is something they can keep for a long time and the baby can even read them himself when old enough. I think it is lovely to introduce children to the joy of books/rhyme/poems etc0

Ive just been to a christening at the weekend, my friend is on Facebook, so I got a photo of her boys from there, registered with Kodak.co.uk and had there photo etched into a glass heart.
Seemed to go down well, and its a nice keepsake!
