The good news just keeps on coming.....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

.....oh, don't tell me, they're scrapping that one? Time to think not 'what I can give to the tories?', but 'hey! the tories can give me what they bloody well promised!':rotfl:
Did I hear they had scrapped the marriage tax allowance plans too?We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

But what about the structural deficit
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Tory news from Tory newspapes.
Higher VAT will hurt more than any tax break for the less well off. The rich NEVER lose under the Tories - that's why they vote for them - and tell their readers to vote for them.
95% of MSEers will be worse off.
GGThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -
Well of course we'll all be worse off.
It's the deficit, innit?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'm curious to know how the rich lost under Labour ? Didn't the wealth gap increase under the previous administration ?"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

I still find it staggering that after 13 years of Labour government, the first thing a mainly Tory administration feels it is necessary to do is bring in redistributive tax changes. Labour supporters should be asking what their party has been doing for the last decade and a bit.
So everyone earning above £40k will be worse off..... not good for house prices Hamish, as it takes a wage of £40k to afford a property in most Areas.
On the other hand, it looks like Sky subscriptions and sales of Plasma TV's are about to rise.0 -

The tax-free personal allowance will be raised by at least £700 to more than £7,000 under plans by the Liberal-Conservative coalition — a move that will benefit an estimated 25 million lower-paid workers and pensioners.
Before getting carried away. At 65 a pensioners personal tax allowance is already £9,490. So its not the giveaway it seems.
As allowances were frozen for the current tax year pensioners on fixed incomes have already suffered a reduction in income.0
