ASDA - Christmas savings card

Quite a nice, easy way of obtaining a free £6 courtesy of Asda (smaller amounts are available too, but are much less worthwhile). This is the Christmas Saving Card, which you can pick up at Asda checkouts.
Basically the idea of these is to allow you to save towards the cost of Christmas. There's a stepped bonus depending on what your balance is on Nov 31st (£6 for £144 on the card), and you have to use the card to buy groceries in December.
The obvious thing to do here is to leave your money in a savings account earning interest until Nov 31st or just before, then use a cashback credit card to put £144 on the card. Combined with some coupons, this adds up to a decent saving.

whats wrong with Asda. it's my favourite shop. When I go to my mums in yorkshire. I love to walk round and browse. The staff are always laughing & joking. Theres music playing. I find it really theraputic. maybe it's just the Barnsley store that's like this.
