I'd wait to be honest, a year is a long time away, what if you change your mind on what you want? Change the colours or decide to go more glam and wished you'd ordered longer dresses? Plus you come across as someone who is seriously enjoying the wedding planning stage, you'll run out of things to do if you keep going at this rate!

I wouldn't if it were me.

Bridesmaids can lose weight, put weight on or even get pregnant.

You might change your mind on the colour or style.

We're getting married in October and I'll be taking my daughter for her dress at the end of July.

Same with my son for his suit, he is 14 but could grow a few inches by the summer.

OP - are you getting high street dresses or "proper bridesmaid" dresses?
If the former, I still think there's no harm in looking now, as per my earlier reasons (regarding range of spring dresses available in the months before April).
If the latter, then maybe there isn't so much rush, as they are more likely to be available whenever.

    HTH :)

well i suppose they can be classed as either highstreet or proper bridesmaid dresses, (am going for the puffball look) just simply because i have seen them on the highstreet and in wedding shops which can also be tailor made

It depends - I'm getting married same date as you, but I wouldn't order mine now but that's because two of my bms are still in their teens so could have growth spurts etc and the other (my maid of Honour) is on WW, so no idea what size she'll be!!
