Hi all,
Im 26 just applied to college in september full time to do a mechanics course, Just had a letter back from one of the colleges i have applied to and they want me to sit a entrance test. 10 questions english, 15 questions maths, 20 questions science, I left school nearly 10 years ago and this is the first test i have done since then, what makes things worse it says on the letter depending on the results of the test determines weather your offered a interview at a later date or not, so my question is what to expect what kinda questions will be thrown at me.
Any help would be much appreciated to put my mind at rest
Thaks

taffy 83 - I can totally relate to your situation. I sat a selection test for Fujitsu ICL some years ago. I had been out of school for approx 15 years.
I used a book called "How to pass selection tests" by Mike Byron & Sanjay Modha. It is very thorough, covering all the categories you will be tested on. Other benefits include ways to speed up your calcs etc.
Trust me it works. I finished well ahead of the deadline & was one of the first to leave the room, felt very strange. I did pass with a high score. You can still get the book, I think it was last published 2005 but it is a best seller.
Oh & good luck - dont panic & 'practice'.
For the record I have no connection to the authors & this is purely a personal recommendation, I did try a few books but found this to be very logical & well structured with test questions/sections.0
