After alot of different stores giving different policy's I wrote to them so i could print and have something to wave at the next snotty sales assistant who refused a voucher customer service said they would accept - this came from their head office, though it says their local office have confirmed the detials. If it helps anyone else i've pasted below.
Please see below our Coupons Policy that has come direct from our Local
Marketing Team -
We do not accept internet coupons.
Coupons produced by suppliers/manufacturers (for example the sort of coupon
found on the back of packets, in magazines, amongst mail at home) are acceptable
at the checkout provided the item referred to on the coupon is stocked by ASDA.
The customer does not have to purchase the item referred to in order to redeem a
manufacturer's coupon.
ASDA coupons or offer voucher (which bear ASDA's name, often be found in the
ASDA Magazine) can only be redeemed if the customer has actually purchased the
product to which the coupon refers.
They claim the number of vouchers that will be accepted is at each stores discression.

2008 £2816.00 2007 £1034.000 -
I have a feeling that Asda is like Tescos they may have national policy but the final decision is down to the manager.
So they will say only 5 vouchers and no duplicates.
I have a local tescos that is open 24 hours a day and they will not take any vouchers unless you buy the stuff.
