new mum help

My friend has had a baby recently and has been diagnosed with Post-Natal Depression. Sadly I'm 2hrs away and dont drive so dont get to see her much i.e. once every 2 months. I talk to her on phone about every other week. Basically I want to do something just for her but am not sure what,, preferably something that will help,,, So any ideas people?

I've seen those notecard files,, any ideas of how could label one up i.e. important numbers, quick recipes etc,,, or is this not a good idea.

Any help appreciated thanks x

  • Im sure she would appreciate a card or similar . think presents can be difficult she might be feeling bit overwhelmed and busy with new baby and maybe file would make her feel either shes not organized or that its lots to do!

Trying to think of something nice you could make, how about a cd with relaxing songs on for her or putting baby to sleep? Or some girly type items? Im sure any gift or gesture would be appreciated though.

Can you surprise her with a visit for a wknd? I'm sure that would mean so much to her. (I don't know what your personal circumstances are so this may not be possible)

When I had my son, I didn't really have many friends, apart from my work colleagues, and his 'father' didn't want to know us so I was really really down. I think that the best thing anyone could have done for me at that time would be send me something for ME not the BABY. Everyone buys the baby presents, not many people think about the mother.

I absolutley adore the Soap & Glory range, it makes me feel so feminine and special. They do small travel sizes that you could send her a range of for her to try. It smells divine and if someone bought me some, I would be FOREVER grateful!

Hope this helps, even just a little??!
