Innappropriate behaviour from Albion/Sainsbbury's Bank

I suppose I am really writing this to rant, but am also keen to see if there is anything I can do to stop the harrassment I am getting from Albion.

I have been paying a loan off for years and until a year or so ago with no incident. Personal circumstances mean that I am now in the process of setting up a DMP with Payplan.

Despite making an agreed payment and updating the advisor about the progress of setting up the DMP, Albion harass me 3 or 4 times a day with calls x 7 days a week, from early in the morning till late at night.

Twice now they have rung my work and left messages on the company voice mail. This is really embarassing, anyone could pick the messagess up, thankfully it's been a sympathetic person & I've gotten away with it.

What galls me is that I have never given them this number, they must have gone and researched it. They deny this and promise to remove the number from their database, but I know they will still call it again, and there is an outside chance of it jeapordising my job.

Has anyone any advice. Letters and phonecalls don't seem to work, they just lie. Has any ombudsman any teeth or are we pretty powerless - which is how I feel.

Thanks for reading.

If they made any mention of a debt in the voicemail they are breaking the law / guidelines.

To be fair they didn't, they left a message asking me to call them regarding a personal financial matter or somthing along those lines.

It was more the fact they had gone off and found my firms phone number & made the effort to try and ring me on numbers I hadn't provided them with. Maybe that's a fair thing to do & next they will start ringing relatives....

There are several formal template letters here you can use to write to a DCA to deal with harassment and to tell them you will only deal with them via letter. Have you sent these?

I'm not excusing their behaviour by not talking about it in my reply, I just think its more productive to focus on making them behave better from now on than it is to focus on how bad they've behaved in the past.
