Rock City Diner - Downpatrick

Anyone know anything about the auction that was due to take place a few months ago at the Rock City Diner in Downpatrick ??

It was cancelled at the time and I cant find out any information about when or if there's another one due any time soon.

I know its owned by the same people who own chapeltown, husband and wife team......she runs chapeltown and he ran Rock City Diner!
try ringing chaprltown to see if there is any news on the auction!!!

i thought the people that owned curran's had sold it a few years ago and it had been run by someone else since then as there had been signs up saying it was under new management. The food quality definatley dropped around that time.

I was SO excited when I read your reply..:j... I'm just off the phone from the Chapletown Bar but the very nice Indian gentleman I spoke too couldn't give me any help ...:(... so,thanks for the 'heads up'...but any other suggestions would be very welcome:D

The Indian guy is a waiter.....you would need to speak to Paula as she ownes the place!!

Mofopants........quality has dropped in that particular resturant......They were/are in fincial difficulties and decided that they could "do" the food themselves.....locals have even started to abondon the place....Even for parties and they are serving next to nothing for megabucks! We were quoted £800 for 70 people.....at the same time they were partaking in the £6.95 dinner and glass of wine offer in the telegraph....It would have been cheaper to take that for the 70 people...better than sandwiches and cocktail sausages!! Denvirs Hotel in Downpatrick offers beautiful food, excellent service, brilliant price (esp when 100 people turned up for our event and in total it cost us £360...Loads of food!!!!!!! and have an ongoing deal with eclipse cinema in Downpatrick!!
Currans is a Joke......and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone now.....

Excellent mumoffour !! I tried asking the Indian guy if I could speak to the boss, but that didn't get me anywhere... now that I know the name of the boss I'll try again and maybe have more luck next time.Thanks again:T
