Using Clubcard vouchers @ Nationwide Autocentre for a Major Service

I am wanting to use my Tesco Clubcard vouchers at Nationwide Autocentre for a Major Service but their t&c say that you can use them for a Full Service and/or MOT.

I have read before that people have used them for a Major Service (inc synthetic oil), does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this?

Thanks

I used my clubcard vouchers to get it serviced and mot'd. NEVER again!! They must have thought being as I was not spending the full amount in cash they would find another way to get money out of me

They failed my car on mot on 3 things ...luckily I knew a mechanic so he checked it out and said there was nothing wrong with the 3 things they flagged up.

Got in touch with VOSA and they found that they were wrong and they have had points inflicted on that them but to get their mot license revoked they have to have a certain number of points which means they would have to havebeen investigated a number of times... Most ppl probably take themon their word.
Even if it was free I would never recommend them!

I have read lots of bad stuff about them on the Net.

So did VOSA get you your money back?

I have a free MOT from Kwik Fit to use this summer which I got from taking car insurance with them. I am worried that they will try one on and willing to threaten them with VOSA.

The ace up my sleeve is that I work with a bunch of mechanics and will get them to look over it if they come up with any "failures".

Did you get a Full or Major service?

I have used my local Nationwide (Slough) and been happy with the service, but I had a major service last time and they would not accept my Clubcard vouchers for it. They said it can only be used for full service + MOT.

I had a full service, I got it retested at another branch and got some work done on my car for free. I refused to get it done at same place. VOSA were really good and if you have any trouble from Themis would certainly call on them.. The more points they get the better!

Going back to the OP, has anyone used their vouchers for the Full Service and paid cash to make it up to the Major?

For me the FS is £170 and the MS is £220, so was wondering if I could pay the £70 difference in cash.

I am wanting the Major because they change the plugs, air filter, fuel filter and drain the coolant and brake fluid - I can do this all myself but by the time you factor in all the parts you are not far off £70.
