Post interview dilemma.

I need some advice please, i went for a interview last Friday dinner time and it was a 3 stage interview, the 1st stage interview i had last Friday (as mentioned), then if your successful with the 1st interview then you proceed to the stage 2 interview and then finally stage 3, i thought my 1st interview went well and i hoped i would proceed to stage 2, the company rang me about 5 hours later (i wasn't expecting to hear from them so early) but i wasn't home, my friend took the call and told them i was out and asked if they wanted to leave a message which they didn't want to do, he told them it would be easier to reach me if they rang my mobile number (which they have) they said they would ring me on Monday, i waited all day on Monday for a phone call that didn't come so at about 4.30pm i decided to ring the woman who interviewed me as i had her number, her phone rang then went to her answer phone, i left a quick message explaining that i had missed her call on Friday tea time and could she ring me back, it's now Wednesday and I've not heard anything since, i don't want to become some sort of nuisance/pest but at the same time i would like to know my situation. Do i ring her again or do i wait till she rings me? if i do ring back and it goes to her answer phone what would be the correct message to leave her without sounding confused and worried as I'm starting to get a little worried as i would dearly love the job.
Do companies have to respond to applicants who have been for an interview even if the applicants have been unsuccessful?

Ring back and if she isn't there - don't leave a message. Call back and ask the person who answers when the lady is likely to be around to speak to as you missed her call on Friday and want to speak to her...

Back again, the woman who rang me on Friday tea time was the same woman who interviewed me and she used her mobile phone not the works company phone, when my friend rang me and told me that a woman had just rung asking for me and when he told me her phone number that had rung i knew it was the woman who interviewed me. She rang me 2 days prior to my interview to ask if i could come 1 hour earlier to my interview, i kept her phone number in my mobile phone book just in case i needed to contact her.
