FPC, returning to industry advice?

Hi all, I stumbled across this good site and wondered if anyone here could help with some advice.
I originally took up a role as a financial advisor back in 1993 with Prudential and progressed to a full consultant, passed my FPC 1 and 2 and then when I moved to Legal and General in 97 I completed FPC3 to hold all three.
My career changed a lot in 2005 and I left financial services until this year. I now want to get back in to it again as its something I was good at, made good money and enjoyed it for the most part.
My question is, what qualifications do I need these days to become a tied adviser again? I read all about CeMAP and CEFA but it seems I already hold the equivalent FPC exams, all be it dated back to 1998. Are these still valid? If so, what else would I need now to do the role?
I also read in job adverts the requirement of CAS but having tried to look it up, I can't seem to find information about obtaining that or even what it is other than its a competency exam of some kind?
If you can help clear up my current confusion on things, it would go a long way to helping me know what I need to do to get re-qualified and apply for roles in the industry again.

CAS - Means Competent Advisor Status, ie selling in a regulated field, compliantly.
It realistically means that you are currently employed in as an FPM now and demonstrating competency. Or that you can evidence it - ie you were in the field selling and can evidence.
If you cant evidence this I would write a really robust covering letter saying how dedicated you are to passing the company's inhouse accreditation scheme - ie their sales process.
