Feeling a little foolish - CCCS question

I know I don't post a lot but I've gone and done something stupid and need some advice, I've already called CCCS but to be honest I feel even worse about the situation now as I virtually got my head bitten off
Anyway to cut a long story short I sent off for a catalogue a few weeks ago, it arrived yesterday and when I looked at the covering letter it said I've now got £200 of credit! Part of the CCCS agreement is to not take out anymore credit. Basically the guy at CCCS said close the account and was extremely curt with me giving me the impression that all my creditors will now want me shot at dawn and my DMP ended forth with if they do a credit search on me. The catalogue sign up made no mention of any kind of credit - maybe I'm just naive but this has never happened to me before.
Anyway to make matters worse I tell DH and then he informs me that we still have the joint CC which was supposed to be closed down. Ulgh.
So bottom line if I cancel all this do you think I'll be ok? Frankly I don't fancy phoning CCCS again and feel a little upset.
Thanks in advance!

Firstly you are NOT stupid, and I am sincerely sorry that you have been treated this way.
So long as you haven’t USED the credit then you can cancel it and pretend it never happened. If you have used it pay it off within 3 months and send us proof, problem solved
Did he actually close your account? Or just threaten it? It is our policy to be a bit strict with further credit but everybody gets a second chance. I would be interested to know who spoke to you in this way, any chance you could PM me your client number so I can check the notes?
Regarding the Joint CC, is your DMP joint? Are you still using it?
if you aren’t using it then there isn’t a problem and if your hubby isn’t on plan and he is paying it that isn’t a problem either.

Hi WG thanks for answering so quickly!

I've not used the credit on the catalogue and have just asked them to cancel it so no problems there.
The DMP is not joint, but the CC is. There is no balance on the CC and I think it was last used in May. We just called up and cancelled this as well, to be honest we don't need it anyway as I/we stick to our budget now
He didn't close my CCCS account but I felt a bit small after he demanded to know why I'd requested a catalogue. Maybe he thought us DMPers shouldn't be buying clothes?
I've also requested my credit report from experian on the free trial so if there is anything else lurking I can sort it, wish I'd done that to start with to be honest.
I'll PM my client number to you, thanks again

Hiya hun,
No probs
So it’s all sorted
no problems at all!
I have PM’d you and I hope that the info in there helps
Clothes? Don’t be silly! All DMPers should walk round naked
I have looked at your account and if there is anything outstanding that you forgot about we can add it, but only 1 time. Fingers crossed there won’t be anything nasty lurking. And don’t forget to cancel the trial once you get it
Hope you feel better now sweetie.
Feel free to PM me anytime re your DMP, or anything else.

Thanks WG, you've been a tremendous help to me and needless to say I feel much relieved about the whole thing. You're a real sweetie and a total credit to yourself and CCCS, thank you so much, I'm extremely grateful you took the time to help me

For those lurking I'd just like to say on the whole I've been treated extremely well by CCCS through some very trying times in the last year or so. All the folks I've spoken to have been fabulous, so don't let my one bad experience put you off at all. They are real life savers if you're in a bad place.
