Am I living by my means? + how does my debt vs earnings look

A couple of threads i've read recently have spurred me onto posting my excel profit and loss calculator. I think i've covered all my costs per month here.

1. Am i living by my means?

2. How does the amount i'm paying off my debt look compared to what I allow myself in the "variable luxury"

3. Overall any comments on the various costs.

*note*. The weekly spend figure can be adjusted and money added to the debt if need be. The right hand side balances with the left and I always get it to finish on 0.

can someone replace ** with tt, and please post the picture below my thread :)

    Hi and welcome
your best bet is to complete a SOA - 'Statement of Affairs' using the standard template which is in this link:

    Thanks polly,

if anyone can post my above link with image codes around it that would be great, as the spreadsheet is really self explanatory :)

    Hi Maxp

Looks ok to me at first glance, but there doesn't seem to be any annual spends accounted for. In the SOA you put figures for everything like that (christmas, holidays, haircuts, clothes, car maintenance...) so might make it easier to judge.

I'll try and get around to doing one of these SOA's then

La escocesa would you be able to put the below forum code around the address, so everyone can see the image.?

I would generally use money from my spends in week 1,2,3 and 4 for haircuts, holiday saving up etc.

    Hi

Please do a proper SOA. as this prompts you to include all the expenditure.

Phone, TV licence, car tax, car maintenance, clothing, presents, going out, any other transport, holiday savings?

    Etc, etc.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

I agree a proper SOA is the way to go, and personally would scrap your gym membership when you can. That is £1200 a year you spend on it, just go jogging/bike riding, or pay the ~£5 entry fee to go for a swim.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
