PLEASE HELP! Teachers Pensions-Moving Abroad

Hi there, I have a teaching job starting in September and need to complete the paperwork asap but am unsure what to do about the teachers' pension contribution. Obviously the scheme is very attractive, but the thing is that as I'm Irish it may well happen that in the future I end up going back to Ireland, and need to consider this. It wouldn't be in the immediate future but in the next decade or so possibly. How will this affect my pension contributions - will I lose the money I and my employer will have contributed??

You will not lose the pension. In fact I beleive you may be even better off in retirement as you can use your UK tax allowance for the Teachers & UK state Pension & your Irish allowance for any other income0
