DirectFoto / MX2 in trouble?

Hi All,

I ordered some items from DirectFoto back in March, one of which was for a birthday present.

2 of the 3 times arrived (late, but in one piece) but the other (the present) still hasn't arrived.

I've contacted them several times regarding it, and they quite frankly have fobbed me off saying give us 3-5 working days etc.

I therefore sent a more stern complaint a few days back, for which I've had no reply.

Yesterday and today, I've noticed their entire site is 'temporarily not available'.

Does anyone know whether they are in trouble? Anyone else with outstanding orders?

I had a quick look on the Guernsey register this morning and it seems like MX2 entered a winding up petition on 7th May

I can't link as I'm a "new user" but if you search for "guernsey registry" you should find the Guernsey equivalent of Companies House and you can search for MX2 from there.

Hope not - for all the employees involved. On a personal basis, I have used them in the past - often took ages to deliver but always got what I ordered

i ordered an mp3 player from them on the 28th april,
phoned them on the 5th may to enquire where it was, they said it was out of stock but they did have a silver one in stock. Nice of them to let me know! I wasn't fussed about the colour really so told them to just post that one, they "said fine, it would be in the post the next day":mad:

They also took the money that day, luckily i paid by cc.

well, its still not here (13th may) and i too just checked on the guernsey site and it states

Yikes... so does this mean I'm OK if I paid by CC?

I bought 3 items for £60ish but only 2 have arrived. Anyone know my rights?

You should be - you just need to talk to your cc company and follow their chargeback procedures.

Just a word of caution, this organisation appears to be re-entering the market under the name In Your Basket.com. The old directfoto site leads you to a landing page under construction. I say caution, because if you've had previous with MX2 and directfoto, you know the problems you could be in for.
