Where can i get tub of dried parmesan pls?

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knows where i can get some dried parmesan...the one you can get in a tub pls?

We used to have it a few years ago mainly to sprinkle on our italian pasta dishes but have been using grated parmesan,chedder ect for a while but this is proving too be too expensive and i do remember a tub of the dried stuff would last ages. Have'nt been able to find any in my Tesco,asda or sainsburys but did find some online but it was almost £5 for 250g tub! Anyone know if anywhere sells it and obviously cheaper than that.

Still in all the shops round here - Asda, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl.

You could swap to Grand Pandano, which is parmesan style sheeps' milk cheese, so is much cheaper. If you grate it as soon as you get it and then freeze it, it should last a bit longer. And would save you from the shock of what it tastes like from the tub rather than the fresh you are now used to using.

I always remember the sprinkler tub of cheese as being parmesan, but when I last bought it, it didn't say parmesan on the tub, so maybe it never was???

Anyway, this is the stuff I bought last time (blue tub)

It doesn't really taste as nice as freshly grated parmesan, but is still nice on bolognese, pizza etc.

It doesnt come up on asda link tho must be my asda doesnt sell it. My friend told me they had it in aldi few weeks ago for £1.49 but by the time i got there it had all sold out :-( i used to buy it from our local kwik save but obviously they are no more think it was made by buttini(sp?). Aww well i shall continue to hunt. Thanks :-)

ohhhhhhhh ive just signed into my tesco account and they are now showing the napolina one, they didnt have it last few shops ive done, so thanks very much for that link hehe fingers crossed they have it in stock.

The Asda one is made by Castelli - which is also stocked in my local Nisa garage.

Sainsburys do their own variety, found by searching "grated italian cheese", which costs £2.50.

I remember seeing the tubs actually in the fridge section with the other cheeses.

Costco do a huge tub for about £4 and it is HUGE!!
