My husband i are currently wanting to put our house up for sale and are at the process of mortgage applying.

I have 3 defaults on my credit report so a mortgage for me has been advised as a no go as there are now no bad credit mortgages out there.
I am more than willing to have my husband have the mortgage in his name and we will draw something up at the solicitors to say if we do split in the future tht i am entitled to half of the house etc...

We have looked at my husbands credit report today believing there to be no problems and have discovered he has a default from a mobile company tht was paid in full and cancelled and then they forgot to cancel the account even though he had sent written confirmation as they requested.

We have spoken to halifax and they have agreed a mortgage of £108000 for my husband.
We are in contact with an independant mortgage advisor who has tried to get us a good deal for a mortgage but so far my husband has been declined with santander and cheltenham.

We are looking to borrow £125000 and now are in the best positions moneywise tht we have ever been.
We both earn £27000 each and have now turned a leaf in terms of repaying accounts monthly, everything is paid on time and over the minimum payment.

We currently have a mortgage with birmingham midshires but they too will have to do a credit check to port the mortgage we currently have to a new property but i dont want it to affect our credit rating too much!

Any info or advice would be so gratefully recieved!!

Thanks in advance

Emma
