Sorry Shell - I missconstued your tone as I was reading your answer quickly (because I should be working not daydreaming about weddings :o )

I thought maybe my post had seemed like a dig & you were responding - sorry about the missunderstanding - my bad :o

No worries hun, I didn't think it was a dig at all! x

    Hiya B2b,

We are planning to do this as well - however this is mainly because I want to get "married" outside, and under english law we have to be under a roof??

Havent actually researched into this, but don't believe it has to be religious in any way... you can be blessed by anyone you want!

theres a place were considering as a venue which is the first place in our county to have the license to hold wedding in their garden
on the website it does show a gazebo type thing but id hardly say its a roof
maybe the laws changed and you just need to find a venue like that
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

If they have a fixed structure such as a gazebo or bandstand type arrangement then it can sometimes get a licence, but i think it has to be a permanent structure, not just a pop up gazebo type tent like you might get in your garden at home.

The laws on outdoor wedding are something along the lines of:
"you need to have a permanent structure with a roof in order to be licensed as a wedding ceremony venue"

The venue we've booked has a wee summer house by a pond that's licenced - I'm sooo excited - it'll be like a neighbours wedding :rotfl:
