Sarah1972, I think most supermarkets sell that kind of chicken.. it obviously sells, there is obviously a market for it. So what is so shocking about Iceland selling this? And I am pretty sure there be even worse out there.
It is not mandatory to buy chicken breast that are only 80% meat, it is people's choice.
I personally buy all my meat from the butchers but I do not judge people on what they buy from where.0 -

I am sorry if you seem to think that I am judging people for going to Iceland, I dont remember saying that?
In my personal opinion the meat from Iceland is all horrible and personally I have never had anything nice from there but being as I am not allowed my opinion I shall not comment on this thread again and will consider myself well and truly told off.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. We shop there reguarly and have to agree the meat is horrible, whether it be the steak, burgers, mince, chops all are full of fat, poorest cuts I have ever seen. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I use Iceland for quick standby stuff , like when you have to produce a meal at short notice!
The range of pizzas at £1 each (for thin or thick crust) are great value.
Pack of mediterranean roasting veg for £1.50.
Cauli and brocolli in cheese sauce - not sure of the price, but very thickly coated in garlicy cheese sauce.
Curries at £1.50 are OK. (£2 for baltis). Packs of Indian meal snacks are yummy!
Like most supermarkets, you need to check out what is on special offer. Sometimes you get a bargain. I think Iceland has a lot of loss leaders which are really cheap, but other stuff can be bought cheaper elsewhere."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
I nip in to my local Iceland to get a few basic frozen things like chips and wedges, and the cheese is ok value, probably about the same as the big supermarkets when they have it on special offer. Essentials like toilet rolls and kithen towels seem good value too.
Got to look out for the HALF - PRICE Freezer, sometimes some really good bargains half price or better.
Last week manages to pick up 4 Ducks Reduced from £7 to £2 Dated middle of 2011 so will be nice for a treat now and then
Any recipe suggestion ? They come with Giblets too so can be used for stock / gravy.
Going to have one on my rotiserie grill tmrw :T0
