Help with bramley apple windfall

Options
Thanks to a bit of a breeze I have collected up loads of small bramley apples and as they will be no good to store need to use them up fairly quickly. Any ideas please?? We are not too keen on pastry/pies and after baking and crumble I'm at a loss! Are there any savoury-type recipes for eg...chutney praps?? Looks like its going to be a bonanza crop this year too so loads more to come

Many thanks

We're moving in 2 weeks to a house with 4 bramley apples trees in the garden. Although we love apple crumble, we thought we'd get a bit sick of it after a while, so I hit on the idea of making our own cider

I had already bought DH a book about self-sufficiency so we could get some ideas, and there was a load of stuff about making cider in there. I think you just need to pulp the apples then bottle it. The natural yeast you need is in the skin. I can't remember exactly where, but I searched on Google and found several recipes for making your own.

When you've done it, have a party for all the other OS people ;)
  • I bought some Bramley apple juice in a farm shop the other week. It was delicious - nice and sour.
