Hi I find with the BOGOF offers it is usually on the expensive "brand" items, I tend to go for downgrading, buying teco's own, for example tesco pasta sauce is lovley cheaper than dolmio/ragu and eldest daughter prefers it plus you get more in the jar even though its cheaper, you can do this with loads of items tesco wheat biscuits are nicer than weetabix and so on. Next week downgradea a brand and see how much you save there are plenty of options I buy all own brands now apart from tea and coffe which I always buy fairtrade - as an ethical consumer, plus don't forget to take your own bags and you'll have extra points too

Problem is, we do this already! Only branded thing I have is shampoo, as a mini treat once a month!natlie wrote:Hi I find with the BOGOF offers it is usually on the expensive "brand" items, I tend to go for downgrading, buying teco's own, for example tesco pasta sauce is lovley cheaper than dolmio/ragu and eldest daughter prefers it plus you get more in the jar even though its cheaper, you can do this with loads of items tesco wheat biscuits are nicer than weetabix and so on. That's very good! How is asda's online shopping - do you get most of what you've ordered or do they have frequent out of stock?0 -
wow! How do you manage that? Doesn't the delivery cost mount up though?Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

Mirtos,
If you have loads in the cupboards, try to do a store cupbaord style challenge to clear it out a bit.
Last night watching the F word I remembered Ive got a bag of pudding rice in my cupboard that we havent used yet, might knock up that appley pie Hugh whittinstall did. It will save me 50p on another "pudding" later on in the month. IYSWIM:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'd thought of that, but it isn't stuff that 'needs using' it's stuff that I use so often I always keep a stock in - chopped toms at 8p a can etc.. Not sure if that makes sense, but I know what I mean

yeah it does make good sense to me
know what you mean completely
It does sound to me like you are doing OK
Your not overspending, you are making good budget choices etc, so theres every possibility you are doing fine
If you are looking for further savings then look at R&R if you are not doing that already? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

refund & replace.
What that means is, if youve been charged higher than the price on shelf, packet etc, then report to CS, and they give you a refund & you keep the product. In grabbit theres a massive thread (tesco misprice) and there are some very seruous R&R finders in there.
Also happens at asda where you get 2.00 giftcard for them overcharging you, altohugh Ive never used this one. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
