Hallo all you lovely people!

Not entirely sure what I am doing at the moment as this is my first post, so please forgive any silly things I may be doing. I am hugely in debt and for the last few months have been receiving psychiatric help for depression and anxiety, partly for the debts and partly as an ongoing problem. However, I have just started a DMP with CCCS (yesterday) and also have just started reading these wonderful forums. My self-esteem has grown considerably since reading about all of you wonderful people.
Am still feeling rather numb about all this but, if I may, will keep you updated on my adventure. I have chosen to call it that as I think it really is! Having said that I am still finding it difficult on some days to leave the apartment, have a shower (pooh) and generally live what may be considered a normal life.
I am unemployed and on ESA and hope that in the not too distant future I may be able to do some energy healing, in particular Reiki, and indeed I feel that apart from you gorgeous people on here, the CCCS and my friends, meditation and things spiritual (not religious) have kept me going. So will be suggesting affirmations, etc along the way.
Well, that's me for the time being and I just really want to help all of you who have already made such a change to my life. Huge hugs to all xxxxx

HELLO frugalchic:wave:
welcome to MSE. The people who frequent these boards are nothing short of amazing. i'm really sorry to hear that you have been unwell but it sounds like you have a handle on things now. We all have good and bad days i guess but just remember that it is ONLY money.
Your health and happiness are far more important than any debt. I started my DF journey about 3-4 months ago and have already made inroads into my debt. There's no way I could keep going without this site though!!!
Can I suggest maybe signing up to some challenges as this has really helped me, the NSD challen in particular, just a thought.
Hope to hear lots of progress updates from you! :j0 -
How super to have heard so soon from the two of you - pepe2008 and willbedebtfree - thank you so very much, it's really made my day!
What a good idea to sign up for some challenges - very much already looking at recipe ideas from, amongst others, weezl - so will look around the forum sites and organise myself a little!
Am now feeling just a little less numb about the whole thing - thank you so much again!
Not sure of your current situations at the moment, but whatever they may be I wish you the heartiest love and hugs.

Hi Frugalchic and welcome!!! What a lovely, positive outlook you have.
I haven't actually signed up to any of the challenges yet but I feel very proud of myself when I have a no spend day - actually most days at the moment. I can't believe how much money I wasted on small impulse purchases such as bars of chocolate and magazines.0 -

Hi Frugalchic
Nice to see you, and keep posting.
You will get loads of support from the guys on here, especially when you are having a " down " sort of day, it really helps.
I joined the Sealed Pot challenge, and I put any spare cash in as and when I can afford it, I make a determined effort and then it goes towards christmas, so one less thing to worry about.

:jHallo everyone!
I am so surprised by such kind welcomes from Tixy, pixiechick, carol01, Geebee, elsie52 and dmb - thank you very, very much; such kindness is very special.
As I am very new to this wonderful site, I am going to take some time to investigate all kinds of possibilities, and I am absolutely amazed at the number of people who have joined since I did yesterday. Loads of us trying to organise the next stage of our journey in life in a slightly smoother, happier and even exciting way.
Thanks for your support and I hope that as time passes I may be able to give a few ideas to others on the first few steps of all of our lives.
Bye for now xx
