I'm now thinking about my invites, were not doing traditional ones as such, were doing them asl letters to the guests and personalising them so we need A4 paper
I'm struggling to find somewhere I can get nice coloured (dark cream / tan) quality embossed paper from that don't do a minimum order of 500 sheets.
We are using it for various other things on the day, order of service etc so we need around 150 - 200 sheets
Does anyone know of anywhere please?

Hi there,
I sell paper to corporate companies etc, so can sort of advise. Conqueror I think is the only paper you are going to be able to get which has that quality finish. The reason you cant find any smaller packs is that Conqueror pack them in reams of 500 sheets.
Have you tried Ebay? Look on the Conqueror website, find the style you like, and search for it on there, and someone may break down the reams and sell smaller quantities on.
Another thing which may work (the paper I sell does this) is ask Conqueror for a sample to see if it works through your machine. My company currently send out a whole ream FOC, so you might get away with it?
Good luck and any questions let me know xxx0 -
I used this from WH Smith for my invites, it's quite thick and textured (I wanted a 'well travelled' feel for my invites). Here's a picture of one of the pages from my invite to give you an idea of how it looks. It's maybe not as dark as you're after though.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. How many do you need? Can you not just go to your local craft shop or Paperchase? I bought paper which sounds like the same as what you are describing for my wedding invites from my local craft shop at 5p a sheet0

Do you have a hobbycraft near you? They have tonnes of different papers there. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

I was also going to suggest Conqueror paper - paper is generally sold in reams of 500 sheets so you could use that paper for something else, eg your thank you letters etc.0

Thanks all
We've got a hobbycraft and staples near us so we are going to have a look at the weekend.0 -
I got an 80 sheet box pack of Conqueror cream laid paper in Staples that I used for my invites (hand-embossed them), had tonnes left over which ended up getting used to print worksheets on (any paper in my printer at the time I need to print is fair game!). Might need to look around where the CV type paper is in Staples to find it.
Otherwise the Paper Mill shops are pretty decent as you can pick and choose what you want.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
