thriftlady - yes you can! have a look for vegan brownie recipes

yoinked from vegancooking community on livejournal.com:
1c white flour
3/4c cocoa
1/2c oil
1 1/4c sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
salt [pinch or whatever you like]
water
blend oil and sugar til creamy. add vanilla. add in flour, cocoa powder, salt. mix. add water til stiff batter. maybe add choc chips, nuts or whatever.
press into parchment paper lined pan. bake at 375 til done
(i usually double this mix).
ok, not the healthiest thing on the planet
but its rather good chocolate goo, its pretty cheap, its REALLY easy, and it tastes damn good uncooked
i also made this with some ground almonds and almond essence instead of vanilla. which was gooood

Thank you:T I've got some vegan cookery sites bookmarked for egg-free baking - don't know why I didn't look there. My attempt at substituting soya flour for egg in a standard recipe failed completely, sort of chocolatey play dough. Do these one taste like conventional ones ?0
