I found out a few months ago that my OH had debt problems, just as I had my lightbulb moment and confessed all and started my DMP. Since then I've been trying to get him to see that we as a couple have to do this journey together, we have 3 children. He says he has written to his creditors and said he will make arrangements etc. I said that I need to know his total debt, but he seems reluctant to add it up and/or tell me. It is starting to affect me and I feel like I have to bully him to get the information out of him, I also don't feel that he has truly faced up to his debts or is serious about doing anything. His philosphy is that something will turn up.
Time and time again he will buy things for the kids when they are not needed.
I've said that I will not judge him and that we are here for each other. I've told him that I'm worried he says, its unsecured and that none of them creditors have defaulted him.
When will he face up to this and deal with it, I feel like I have 4 children not 3
Shall I wait or talk more?

Any danger that you can take over his finances?0

My sympathies
I have the same problem and now handle all the finances although I must confess I still am not happy as, like you, feel I now have 4 children - not 3! My OH only has one credit card and one loan and has never defaulted but doesn't seem to be worried about paying it off as quick as possible to avoid some of the interest.
It all came to a head when I saw a statement from his credit card where he had gone out for the monthly meal with his mates and had paid for his meal on the credit card. Not so bad BUT he'd also paid for the six other guys and taken the cash from them to spend until his wages cleared!!!!CC Debt as of start of March 06
