When a change of job resulted in better financial fortunes I spent a couple of years replenishing my bag collection with designer bags instead. I spent a small fortune acquiring them but some of them have actually doubled in value or more so though they weren't bought as investments they have turned out to be so. All of the bags have worn well and are still immaculate and since my splurge I haven't bought a handbag since and probably won't for years to come either. So averaged over the years the cost of the bags has probably worked out to be less than what I used to pay annually for high street ones.
I'd agree to much of this, but not if you are buying on tick, as opposed to with savings: ten the interest becomes part of the cost.
There s something wonderful in buying real craftsmanship from real makers, both aesthetically, and potentially, for good makers, for an economy/industry...
(IMHO Mulberry quality dropped a lot a few years ago).
If you just set 10% of the £100 per day away for twenty working days you'd have your £200 bag0 -
Just discovered the "Outnet" website, it's the outlet site of Net a Porter...some good bargains on there but slightly higher priced. Just fell in love (lust) with a £650 Alexander McQueen bag...d'oh.0

I signed up to that when it was first launched. I thought it was lacking in true bargains too so lost interest in it pretty quickly. The best bargains I think get snapped up literally as soon as they get listed on there. Thats what was happening when it first launched anyway. I personally preferred it when they just offered "sale" items on the main site. I seem to recall it offering better savings then than Outnet does too but may be wrong.0

I love a gorgeous handbag too, but I wouldn't feel good buying one if I couldn't really afford it. Why don't you get a cheapish one now and save up for one that you really want. Then at least you'll have enough money to not have to compromise on the bag you really want!0

There is a website called www.fashionhire.co.uk and you can hire handbags for a monthly fee. I haven't used this site and cannot vouch for it, but it may be an idea to have a look. Otherwise SAVE UP.:T8 months to go till end of the IVA :j:rotfl::T0

Oh dear I feel like a complete failure now as I actually only own 1 handbag:(:rotfl: Since having children handbags have been a luxury rather than the neccessity they once were:o0 -
It's weird I never really like the look of most designer bags, I like high street ones and like to swap and change them every few days! They never wear out ether!0
