i hate the idea of clegg getting in the back door, its all wrong this doing deals business, we need a new election in a few months , its a shambles
I don't mind that so much and understand his unhappiness at not getting a representative share of seats. I think what is starting to rankle is the thought that the party that came third could end up deciding which of the others comes to power and dictating many of the terms. Too much game playing and it'll all fall apart.... then where will we be left?
But if coalition govt works in other countries, perhaps we have to learn how to make it work for us.0 -
Do you think this will pave the way for a Lib Dem / Labour deal or is Clegg stringing them along and when he gets what he wants, he'll dump them anyway?
LibDem/Lab/TomCobbleyandall will not work so he must be stringing them along.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Don't worry, if the LD make a pact with the devil, he'll soon find a way to stay in power.
Having surrounded himself with mediocre 'yes men', there is no one there who can be a convincing leader of labour.
I agree with this. There was wriggle room in his statement. Some ifs and buts which really should not be there in a unequivocal statement.
Peter Mandleson at his most devious. Six months down the line assuming the lib/lab pact becomes a reality I'm sure the situation will be too unstable for him to leave just then !"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Certain persons have been consulting my fair countree - New Zealand - re:same.
What people persistently fail to consider is the change PR would bring about in the way the electorate would vote.
It is no good applying PR maths to past Election votes, cast when it was not an factor.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
