Borrowing in excess of needs

    Just borrow the £5000. If you were to borrow £7500 and put £2500 in a high interest account you would just spend it gradually.

    How you might say? well Christmas, Holidays, Credit cards bills general costs of living. What ever it is you will occasionally borrow a couple of hundred from your savings and never return it until you have little savings left (of the £2500 that is).

    I hear what you say about only wanting to pay £100 but if paying is an issue you may need to look at your SOA and the car you are choosing to buy.

    Keep it simple go with £5000
