Two council tax letters

Hi all hope this is the right place as I am having a problem with with my council tax. I have been trying to sort this problem out since last year with no luck basivly I was a student and my partner was not so we got
25% off our council tax.
But a the start of the year we got two letter's one for £887 full council tax + £306 for wate and sweage in both names and one with 25% which was about £620 + £306 for wate and sweage. The lower one is paid off.
Simple math as far as I can tell (887+306) - (620+306) = 267
The issue is the council says I owe £600 pounds on the full council tax bill according to the council which as far as I can tell should only be £267. How can I make them see sense as they have ignored me pretty much as I have called and sent letters but get we are looking into this but can you pay £600 in the meantime. They have now got a debt collector involed I am more than willing to pay the £267 as I do owe it but they just won't listen and expect me to pay more than is due.

You need to find out you your local councillor is and take them both letters.
I assume that you have take your CT letter from your college/university to the Council? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
