I have old samsung camcorder and does the job but very large and heavy so would like a pocket/small camcorder, but a bit confused by them all, the differences etc,its only for family stuff, doesn't mater about HD etc, seen medion one for 59.99 and cheaper vivitar , but are they worth the money or is it worth spending a little more, (but not much). Thanks for any advice

Recently saw the Gadget Show and it featured a 'Flip' recorder - they seemed very impressed by it. Think its about 80 pounds. Its featured on their website.0

We bought one of these recently, Kodax zx1, HD, memory card slot, splash/sandproof, pocket sized & even comes with batteries, charger, case etc- for under £50. DD was so impressed with the results she ordered one for her backpacking trip to Egypt the week later, and loves hers too.

The Sanyo Xacti camcorders are a good breed because they have the right balance between size, weight and style and are not so small that it becomes a gimmick and not too big that you feel like you're carrying a brick around but feels more like a camera. Flip camcorders have been getting a lot of press lately but I think they are more like a toy / gadget kind of camcorder, but that's just my personal opinion I don't really have too much knowledge about Flip cams.Shin: a device for finding furniture in the dark.
