Water rates

Good Afternoon dfw's

Just wondering if my waterrates seem a bit high to you? I currently pay £48 a month, with ive been paying without question as its not as if you can shop around for your water supplier(?)
anyhoo, the more SOAs ive been reading lately, the more im jealous of everyones seemingly low rates.

We are with Anglian water, are a family of 4 (me, dh, dd age3 and dd age2)
We live in a 3 story end of terrace. Dh has shower every day, me everyother day (or when i can escape the little ones!) the girls share a bath every other night. we have the washing machine on once or twice a day and the dishwasher goes on once a night.
Does this sound like excessive water use to you?

I appreciate any replies
Thanks
Lynds x

It does seem high! I am a SAHM & the washing machine is never not on, bath everynight for me & ds & shower everymorning for DH we pay £26 a month with seven trent & its been that for ages now so i think (touchwood) will stay at that price. Im not sure about shopping around for water but have you tried seven trent? x

Are you on a water meter or do you have a water bill ased on the reateable value of your property?

If it's the latter, there isn't much you can do about it as it would probaly be more expensive with a water meter with your family.

It sounds high as rates - you should check out whether the rateable value of the property is correct - for example, if your property has been separated from a larger property, you could have the wrong rateable value.

But otherwise, you could find it is cheaper on a meter. Suggest you take the problem to the 'water' forum under 'utlilities'

My water rates are based on the rateable value and I pay just over £50 a month, but the rateable values are high in my area.
